Steelers' staff resign

The resignations have taken place with immediate effect as a vote of no confidence in owner Bob Phillips.

The trio, along with the club's two full-time office staff, felt their positions had been made untenable following the liquidation of two operating companies running the club in the last five years.

"It physically hurts us and it pained me to do it," said Matsos, who led the club to the league and play-off double last year.

"There is no way any of us could continue to work in the present environment."
