Twin sisters enjoy success in Spain

Twin sisters Grace and Alice Walker are both keen show-jumpers and enjoyed competing in the recent Spanish Sunshine Tour.

Grace and Alice, 23, are based at the family's yard at Myton-on-Swale near York where they keep their Grade A horses and where they have started breeding their own horses.

The sisters also have the benefit of training by the top showjumper Guy Williams, who is their brother-in-law and is based in Kent.

As well as competing, they are both taking teaching qualifications so that they will be able to train other riders when they are at home.

Grace returned from the Small Tour in Spain with four wins, three second places and two thirds. Riding her fast horse, Mysteron, Grace won one of the biggest prizes of the final weekend which was 1,000.

Alice took a young Belgian bred six-year-old, Edana van Overis, to compete in the young horse competitions and was placed in the top five at most of the weekend competitions during the tour.

Now both sisters are looking forward to competing on the county show circuit this summer.
