Whitaker partners Ornellaia to third in Germany

evergreen Huddersfield star John Whitaker finished a fine third in Sunday’s CSI three-star 1.50m Eschweiler Grand Prix in Germany, riding new ride Team Harmony’s 10-year-old bay mare Ornellaia.

The class proved to be popular with 51 combinations contesting the class, all trying to take home the lion’s share of the €61,500 prize money on offer.

With only four combinations putting in a first-round clear, it was a close contest.
