Yorkshire golf: Lightcliffe duo Georgia Holden and Luke Cranswick prevail on home course

LIGHTCLIFFE players Georgia Holden and Luke Cranswick produced the best gross and net scores respectively in the Huddersfield Halifax Junior Order of Merit's second event around their home track.

Holden carded a gross 77 in the Lightcliffe Open to beat Crosland Heath's Oliver Caton - who leads the HHJOM standings after two competitions - by three strokes. She also won nearest the pin.

Cranswick's net 65 gave him a two-shot triumph over Crosland Heath's Joel Rushworth, with Finn Sutcliffe (West End) taking third with a 69.

Elland's William Hulme won the nearest the line competition.

In the nine-hole non-CONGU event, home advantage also told as Lightcliffe's Matthew Airey placed first with 42pts and won nearest the pin.

His club-mate Sam Harrison was second on 36 while nearest the line was Sam McDonald (Crosland Heath).

Second behind Caton in the gross Order of Merit rankings is West End's Freddy Nicholson with Holden third.

Nicholson leads the net Order of Merit ahead of Cranswick while in the non-CONGU rankings Bradley Park's Gabriella Child is first with her club-mate Michael Edwards second.
