Yorkshire golf: Oakdale A enjoy silver lining in successive years in Harrogate Union championship
The defending champions totalled 256 to win by just a shot from the hosts, Joyce Slater laying the foundations for their success with an 82.
Bedale came up marginally short despite an 81 from Gillian Petrie, which saw her win the gross individual trophy.

Hide AdKnaresborough A won the the best net team prize, with Bedale A again frustratingly losing out by one stroke.
Linda Savage won best net individual with 72, and Teri Williamson was runner-up on 74, beating five other players on count back.
After all seven B teams had completed their rounds, Oakdale B led with a total of 273.
Cath Varley's 86 was their best contribution and she finished seventh in the gross individual event, and her team eighth.

Otley made local knowledge count as they bested six other clubs to win the Oakdale Jubilee Trophy, a Stableford competition involving the highest tally from two teams of four.

Hide AdPannal, the defending champions, totalled a creditable 157pts, but that left them no fewer than 10 in arrears of Otley.
Knaresborough had only two teams in the competition, but their combined score of 160 was good enough to give them second place over Pannal.
There were also prizes for the best three team scores and Otley claimed first and third places, with a Knaresborough team - with Union match play champion Ian Backhouse in their line-up - taking second.
