Yorkshire v Durham, day 3: Di Venuto century before rain

RAIN has stopped play at Headingley Carnegie with Durham 215-4 in reply to Yorkshire's first innings 610-6 declared.

The players are taking an early tea after the conditions forced them from the field at 2.46pm.

Michael Di Venuto is unbeaten on 108 and Ian Blackwell undefeated on 12.

The only wicket to fall since lunch was that of Dale Benkenstein, who was smartly stumped by Jonathan Bairstow off David Wainwright for 64.

By lunch, Di Venuto and Benkenstein had lifted the total from 54-3 overnight to 156-3 in reply to Yorkshire's first innings 610-6 declared.

Yorkshire tried everything in an effort to find a breakthrough but the batsmen encountered few alarms as they took their partnership to 107.
