Weekend Gliding Demonstrations near Queensbury

Herr Krause and Herr Magersuppe, the gliding and soaring pilots, gave demonstrations of soaring under the auspices of the Bradford Gliding Club, in conjunction with Messrs. J. Lyons and Co., Ltd., near Queensbury, over the week-end.

On Saturday and yesterday large numbers of people were present. The pilots were in charge of two machines, one a two seater and the other a single seater.

A luncheon was held at the Midland Hotel yesterday, at which the President of the Bradford Gliding Club (Mr. N. H Sharpe) and the Chief Instructor (Mr. H. Jones), and Mr. G. F. Woolf, of Messrs. J.Lyons and Co., Ltd., who are giving demonstrations and down the country, were present.

Mr. Sharpe and Mr. Woolf both spoke of the success of gliding as a sport.

Mr. Woolf announced that he had received a message from the Master of Sempill wishing the Bradford Club every success, and Mr. Sharpe said he welcomed the assistance given to gliding by Messrs. Lyons.

Herr Krause will be towed into the air above Blackpool next Wednesday to give exhibitions of soaring.
