LETTERS FROM THE PAST
Yorkshire's postal service has changed hugely over the years and in this week's nostalgia special The Yorkshire Post remembers deliveries of years gone by.
Pictures include Robert Embleton, of Shipley, on his rounds in April 1970, post girls at Harehills Sub Post Office, Leeds, in 1914, a segregator and stacking unit in the mechanised complex in Leeds, Royal Mail House, February 1976 and the post office at Thorpe, near Robin Hood’s Bay, March 1946.
