Croft Circuit North Yorkshire: everything you need to know about the BTCC weekend 2023

Local legends, big name drivers and high octane fun … Croft Circuit has unveiled the superb line up for this year’s BTCC event, including an early-bird offer on tickets.

Motor racing fans will already have the BTCC date in their diary for this July, but with plenty of local talent in the running this year’s weekend of fun is bound to be a bigger and better event than ever.

Yorkshiremen Dan Cammish and Daniel Lloyd are among those turning out at the 2.1 mile converted airfield Croft Circuit, which balances on-track fun, plenty of support acts and stalls and a rural location that’s the perfect backdrop.

Spectators love watching the action from the banks, browsing the stalls and getting the chance to see their heroes in action, with adrenalin-fuelled action guaranteed from first rev of the throttle till the final wave of a chequered flag.

Save the date

The Yorkshire leg of the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championships run on Saturday, July 29 and Sunday, July 30; you’ll want to add West Lane, Dalton-on-Tees, Darlington DL2 2PL, to sat nav to get there – there’s ample parking on site with excellent marshalls helping make this a smooth weekend where the only drama happens on the track.

This year’s line-up

Yorkshire drivers Dan Cammish and Daniel Lloyd will be racing alongside household names like Ashley Sutton, Colin Turkington Tom Ingram, Jake Hill and Tom Chilton. As the season hots up it could be close at the top as they all fight it out for the points and the glory.

It’s worth keeping an eye on the newcomes too … a very young Lewis Hamilton raced British Touring Cars in 2003 at Croft.

More than just racing

From food stands to merch and more, there’s lots to entertain lovers of the sport … including the chance to watch your heroes rev up and get ready to race. This is a must-see event for anyone who lives and breathes motor racing.

And when it comes to racing, the circuit layout lends itself to driving action and audience entertainment. Pick your favourite spot along the chicanes, hairpin turns, the Jim Clark Esses, the Tower Bend or the Bancroft and watch it all unfold.

What else to expect

On the same weekend is the Porsche Sprint Challenge GB, with local drivers Max Coates and Ethan Hammerton starring. The MINI CHALLENGE Trophy will make a guest appearance in 2023, while the Legends Car Championships takes place – you certainly get your money’s worth at the BTCC weekend.

Where to buy tickets

Up until May 31 there are early bird offers, but they’re selling fast. Children under 12 go free, while for 13-15 year-olds use the teen ticket, starting from £6. Adult tickets start from £16. Make sure you don’t miss out … get your tickets here.
