Pocklington Canal Amenity Society set to begin fundraising New Horizons boat trips on Good Friday

Pocklington Canal Amenity Society (PCAS) is preparing to start its popular open trips on the New Horizons narrow boat.

The fundraiaing trips along the canal will begin on Good Friday (April 15) at noon with more held on Easter Sunday and Easter Monday and then every Sunday and bank holiday after that (Jubilee bank holiday trips are still under consideration).

A spokesman said: “People can just turn up and wait for the boat. Spring is a beautiful time to take a trip as the flowers emerge with birds and insects starting to appear in their finery.

“Unless it is very rainy we will run with the sides of the boat open to ensure good airflow. Please note that all trips are subject to the availability of the boat, volunteers, and the canal navigation.
