Black is the colour as reality show hits Hollywood

The drama Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, by the British-Irish playwright Martin McDonagh, was named best motion picture at the Golden Globes, with its star, Frances McDormand named best actress in the category.

Lady Bird was named best musical or comedy film, and its star, Saoirse Ronan, named best comedy film actress.

Gary Oldman was named best actor in a drama film for Darkest Hour, the story of Churchill’s return to Downing Street during the Second World War.

The Globe for best director of a motion picture went to Guillermo Del Toro for The Shape Of Water

Allison Janney was named best supporting actress in a drama film for her role in I, Tonya – the story of the Olympic figure skater Tonya Harding.

Ewan McGregor was best actor in a TV movie for Fargo, in which he played identical twins.

Big Little Lies was named best TV movie, with three of its stars taking individual awards.
