Although 5 is keen to hold back most of the surprises until series seven is launched and each of the six episodes airs weekly (plus a Christmas Special in December), these photos reveal some intriguing insights into some of the storylines - and relationship developments - that will be coming up in the first episode and beyond.
Many fans will be keen to learn what develops between Siegfried (Samuel West) and Dorothy (Maimie McCoy), who were last seen together kissing under the mistletoe at The Drovers, as Mrs Hall got on with the job of securing a turkey with a prize-winning dart.
The new series will consist of six 60-minute episodes plus a Christmas Special. In the UK, the show will return to 5 this September with a date to be announced in due course.
Series 7 was announced as a double series commission with series 8 in November 2025. In the US, MASTERPIECE on PBS will air series 7 from January 17, 2027.
Series 1–6 are available to stream on 5.
