The drama, set between Yorkshire and Monaco, will tell the story of a group of kennel-workers who get lucky with their shared lottery tickets.

Written by the Bafta-winning and Leeds-born Kay Mellor, it also features a cast including Neil Morrissey, Katherine Rose Morley and Emily Head.

Much of the series was shot in Yorkshire in late 2020, meaning the filming faced a number of challenges due to the coronavirus pandemic.

But a statement from the BBC said: "With the invaluable help and support of local institutions, businesses and well-known locations in the region, we have an exciting new series on the verge of transmission."

Among the institutions and business central to the filming were Bradford University and the Victorian Quarter in Leeds.

The new series of The Syndicate airs at 9pm on March 30 on BBC One.
