Shaun Keaveny interviewed Whittaker on his BBC Radio 6 Music show today before she joins him tomorrow to present from Camden during the station's own music festival.
During a slot on the show called Small Claims Court, which features a person revealing an encounter with a famous person, Whittaker called in to tell a funny story about filming in Tenerife with Doctor Who - with the acctress sharing her awkward encounter with The Verve frontman.

"I was in the queue waiting with some workmates, I turned around and saw Richard Ashcroft and his family.
"I became so overwhelmed to see him [that] when the next taxi pulled in, I wasn’t concentrating and just dived in the taxi, and I was then sat next to his kids in the back of the taxi and he had to ask me to get out."
Whittaker, who is from Skelmanthorpe near Huddersfield, said: “I sent over my mixtape so hopefully some of it will feature! It should include some of the live bands I’ve been to see.

"I don’t usually sit on the other side of an interview. It’s going to be quite tough to sit on my hands.”
