Food Matters: Archbishop opens inn

The newly refurbished North Yorkshire inn, The Carpenters Arms, opened its doors last weekend and welcomed the Archbishop of York as one of its first customers.

Dr John Sentamu, along with his wife and 60 locals and parishioners attended a lunch held at the inn, in Felixkirk, following a service to celebrate 150 years of the village Church of St Felix.

The Carpenters Arms is the first inn to be opened as part of the Provenance Inns collection, which was launched this summer by former Morrisons director Chris Blundell and Michael Ibbotson, owner of the

award-winning Durham Ox in Crayke.
