GIRLS ALOUD star Sarah Harding will make her stage debut in a new production of the classic movie Ghost, which will play for a week in Leeds during a UK tour this autumn.

Ghost The Musical will also feature Hollyoaks star Andy Moss, who played Rhys Ashworth in the Channel 4 soap.

The show is being staged by veteran impresario and one-time Coronation Street star Bill Kenwright.

It will play at the Grand Theatre in Leeds from November 14-18.

For more than a decade, Harding was part of one of the most successful pop acts in UK history, with 20 consecutive top ten singles including four Number 1s for Girls Aloud.

Her screen acting credits include Bad Day, Freefall, Run For Your Wife, Coronation Street and St Trinians 2: The Legend of Fritton’s Gold.

She said, “I’m absolutely delighted to be making my theatre debut in Ghost - The Musical. The film is one of my all-time favourites, so to get the opportunity to play Molly in Bill Kenwright’s new production is a huge honour for me and I can’t wait to get started.”

The new production of the musical, with an expanded book and new staging, follows a successful run in Leeds and across the UK three years ago.

Mr Kenwright said; “Ghost is a story full of hope, and is one of those films which never leaves you. The book by Bruce Joel Rubin and score by Dave Stewart and Glenn Ballad come together wonderfully in one of my favourite new musicals in years.”

The original hit movie starred the late Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore, Tony Goldwyn and Whoopi Goldberg.
