Review: Cats
To succeed, the cast must inhabit the animals in mind, body and movement. Fortunately this production has talent in spades.
As Munkustrap, who I always consider the heir to Deuteronmy’s throne, Ben Palmer is never off stage. Strong and powerful in the vocals he tackles an extremely physical role superbly.

Hide AdIn Joseph Poulton we have an incredible Mr Mistoffelees bringing the amazing dexterity and balletical skill this part demands while Alice Redmond captures the emotionally charged sadness of Grizabella, at times with tear jerking results.
Some outstanding characterisation and fine vocals come from Nicholas Pound as the old and wise Deuteronomy and Paul F Monaghan’s Gus The Theatre Cat, complete with shaking paw and his Bustopher Jones are pure gold pieces of character acting.
