May 19 - Flowers for Mrs Harris: A new musical based on the novel by Paul Gallico has its world premier at Sheffield’s Crucible Theatre (0114 249 6000,sheffieldtheatres.co.uk). Daniel Evans’s last production at the theatre, it runs to June 4.

June 20 - Cats: Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical returns to Leeds Grand Theatre (leedsgrandtheatre.com) direct from its sell-out seasons at the London Palladium. Adapted from TS Eliot’s Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats, the show runs to July 2.

June 30 - Lest We Forget: A special concert to mark the centenary of the Somme at Leeds Town Hall (0113 376 0318). Featuring Leeds Festival Chorus, Leeds Philharmonic Chorus, St Peter’s Singers and Manchester Camerata, the concert will be led by young conductor Ben Gernon.

Dec 27 - Grumpy Old Women: Jenny Eclair is joined by Susie Blake and Kate Robbins at York Grand Opera House (0844 871 3024, atgtickets.com). The show includes musings on the joy of large pants and a free anger management workshop.
