Yorkshire Sculpture Park marks 40th anniversary
Occasional Geometries has been compiled largely from the Arts Council collection and features Jesse Darling’s March of the Valedictorians, a collection of bright red primary school chairs mounted on long, bent legs, which tower above visitors.

Hide AdIt also includes two new works by the Pakistani artist, Rasheed Araeen.
Jill Constantine, head of the Arts Council Collection said: Rana Begum is one of the most innovative and exciting young artists working in Britain today and we are delighted that she has accepted our invitation to curate an exhibition.
“The show promises to be playful, colourful and it will offer a number of imaginative interpretations.”

Hide AdThe exhibition is part of a weekend-long event dubbed by the park as A Weekend of Wonderful Things, which runs from dawn until dusk across its 500 landscaped acres.
The programme includes stargazing, Caribbean steel pan performances and an event described as silent disco dancing.
