Jayne Dowle lives in Barnsley, South Yorkshire and covers social affairs, politics and property – writing about how we live, where we live and how we used to live.
She was educated at Barnsley Sixth Form College, followed by Keble College, Oxford, where she read English Literature and Language.
A journalist for more than 30 years, she works for regional and national newspapers and magazines and also writes and edits non-fiction books.
Returning to Barnsley from London in 2003 to raise her family, she has a son and a daughter, and believes passionately in giving every child a chance.
