More than 100 new jobs could be created following the extension of a city centre office building

CBRE secured permission to extend No 2 The Embankment, on Sovereign Street in Leeds, to create 15,400 sq ft of additional office floorspace,

No 2 The Embankment is a 37,000 sq ft building located 250 metres south of Leeds train station with nearby occupiers including KPMG Eversheds, BT and Asda.

The approved development comprises one and two storey extensions, together with the installation of air source heat pumps and photovoltaics. Changes to the courtyard parking areas will provide disabled bays, motorcycle parking and bicycle stores.

Edward Harvey, senior planner at CBRE, said: “The scheme will have direct regeneration benefits for the local area through the creation of employment opportunities associated with the construction and operation of the development.”
