American sports retailer Lids has signed a lease with Bradford’s The Broadway shopping centre.

Located in the Petergate Mall, Lids is set to open in September, and will create six new jobs locally.

Ian Ward, General Manager at The Broadway, said: “We’re delighted to have attracted such a widely recognised and fashion forward brand as Lids.

“The city is attracting new business and investment, and we’re delighted that we can provide new and exciting stores for customers to enjoy as we continue to grow.”

The 1,200sq ft store in The Broadway will be the brand’s twentieth store in the UK.

Britten Maughan, president of Lids, said: “Bradford is a young and vibrant city that is perfect for the twentieth UK Lids store.

“We’re excited to bring a unique range of American sports and fashion products to The Broadway.”
