Arco selling Hull head office for £9.2m with 'new home' plans for 300 staff

Safety equipment supplier Arco is selling its Hull head office for £9.2m as it looks to move staff to a nearby location.

The company’s Blackfriargate building has been put on the market through Carrick Real Estate. It comes as Arco looks to base all Hull colleagues at its existing National Distribution Centre in the city around five miles away.

A spokesperson said: “The consolidation of its Hull-based teams into one central location would further enhance the existing NDC site and create a dynamic environment for collaboration and growth.

“As a proud Humber based business, Arco remains deeply committed to the area, with Hull continuing to play a central role

"Our Blackfriargate Head Office houses around 300 employees from a range of departments, including IT, customer care, finance and sales. However, the office was designed for the pre-Covid world – in the years since, hybrid work patterns have changed the landscape and the office footprint has evolved to suit requirements.

“We’re in our third consecutive year of investment and plan to develop our National Distribution Centre in nearby Henry Boot Way to move all our Blackfriargate colleagues to this facility as part of these developments.

"We look forward to welcoming them to their new home.”
