Artisan Fireplace Design: Brighouse firm's assets to be auctioned as it ceases to trade after 40 years

The assets of Brighouse-based Artisan Fireplace Design are set to be auctioned off, after the company ceased to trade following 40 years of business.

Located just outside Brighouse town centre, Artisan Fireplace Design operated from a substantial two-floor showroom, selling gas, electric and woodburning stoves.

Insolvency practitioner Booth and Co was appointed by Artisan Fireplace Design to liquidate the business, with asset advisory firm Walker Singleton now offering the entire showrooms stock for sale via online auction.

Speaking on the announcement, Sue Halliley, company director at Artisan Fireplace Design, said: “Retiring is a heartfelt decision made ever more difficult having owned and managed the business for 40 years.

“Hard work, professional service and a warm and friendly demeanour from the Directors and team at Artisan Fireplace Design has built an enviable reputation that resulted in generational business and genuine friendships.” Following its closure, all the company’s stock is to be sold via online auction, with bidding closing from 12pm on Thursday June 4.

The auction will contain 250 lots for purchase including gas fires retailing for in excess of £6,000, fireplaces of stone, granite and solid wood.
