Blacks takes more office space

LAW FIRM Blacks Solicitors is relocating its employment team after expanding its office space.

The company, which employs 144 staff, has taken an extra 1,000 sq ft at Wade House in the Merrion Centre in Leeds, adding to the 9,408 sq ft it already occupies over two floors.

The nine strong employment team, led by partner, Richard Parr, will be moving into the new premises from Hanover House at the end of the month.

Blacks, which is celebrating its 25th year this year, saw turnover rise by 21 per cent to £8.8m and net profit increase by seven per cent to £1.5m in 2013/14.

Chris Allen, managing partner, said: “We currently house one of the largest employment teams in Leeds, so it’s essential that we can cater for our strong portfolio of Yorkshire clients.”

Edward Ziff, chairman and chief executive of Town Centre Securities, added: “We regard it as a great compliment that Blacks has chosen to expand within Wade House.”
