Brandon Medical: Leeds medical equipement business acquired by Czech private equity firm
BHM Group holds businesses in various sectors including real estate, retail, renewable energies, venture capital, and medical technology.

Hide AdReinsberg Group said this acquisition formed a “key part” of its strategy to build a “strong group of independent European medical manufacturers, leveraging their capabilities to achieve economies of scale in the global consolidation of the medical industry.”

Hide AdFounded Over 70 years ago, Brandon Medical is a UK manufacturer and designer of advanced technological solutions for operating theatres, critical care, and primary care.
The firm’s products include surgical lights and control panels.
Brandon Medical said the acquisition is part of its “long-term succession plan to ensure the company’s strategic growth and sustained success in a dynamic and fast-changing marketplace”.

Hide AdBrandon Medical was founded shortly after the second world war as a motor rewind firm by Joseph Cameron and his son Cyril.
It later progressed into a transformer manufacturer, with medical equipment only making up a small part of its work in the firm’s early days.
The firm’s formal rebranding from an engineering business to a medical devices’ company was eventually completed in 1996.

Hide AdBrandon Medical has also won a number of major awards including the Make UK Yorkshire and Humber Innovation Award in 2019 and both the Queen's Award for Export and the Northern PowerHouse Exporter of the Year Award in 2018.
Brands within the Reinsberg Group include ALVO Medical, a Polish manufacturer of hospital modular building systems and Famed Zywiec, a Polish medical equipment manufacturer concentrating on operating tables and hospital beds with over 75 years of business operations.
The group also includes Medifa, a company offering products in the field of surgical tables, operating lights, modular hospital room solutions, and special equipment for operating rooms.
The Reinsberg Group companies now account for combined annual sales of €90m.
