Carter Jonas names new head of commercial
Mr Aspland, who is a former director of Savills, will work with partners John Webster and Ian Cartwright on major projects.

Hide AdCarter Jonas provides property services throughout Yorkshire, as well as specialist advice on investment and development for companies, statutory bodies and private clients.
The practice advises on development projects covering 2,500 acres in the region.
Mr Aspland qualified as a chartered surveyor in 1998 with a diploma in estate management. He worked in agency, investment and development in Leeds, Sheffield and London before joining Savills as a director in 2008.

Hide AdMr Aspland has been involved in a number of high profile transactions across the region for GE Capital, Smiths News and Threadneedle.
He was recently involved in the sale of the former Yorkshire Chemicals site in Leeds.
Mr Aspland told the Yorkshire Post: “There is a polarisation between the north and south. London functions within its own market, but there is a very specific regional divide and over the next couple of years, there will certainly be more investor interest in more affluent areas – Harrogate, Northallerton, perhaps north Leeds.”

Hide AdMr Aspland said that developers must be careful not to establish a divide between the affluent parts of Yorkshire, and their less prosperous neighbours.
