ShareSoc said this kind of event can help to develop stronger, mutually beneficial, relationships between local companies and their local investors.

ShareSoc has previously arranged events for London-based investors and said it is time that investors in the North got the same access to companies.

Mike Dennis, director of ShareSoc, said: “We’re delighted to be holding our first investor access event in Leeds. As an organisation that champions the voice of the individual shareholder we always encourage shareholders to directly engage with listed companies.

“So often, smaller investors are overlooked by management teams who focus on their larger institutional shareholders in London and this event presents an opportunity for ordinary shareholders to speak to company directors directly.”
