Clydesdale appoints new CFO

A senior figure at Deloitte is to become the new chief financial officer (CFO) at Clydesdale Bank.

Following the appointment of Jim Pettigrew as chairman earlier this month, Clydesdale Bank has announced that Ian Smith is to take on the role of CFO. Mr Smith, who joins in October, will serve on the bank’s UK executive committee, reporting to chief executive David Thorburn. Mr Smith joins Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks from Deloitte where he has been a partner specialising in financial services for 12 years. The post became vacant earlier this year when former CFO, Scott Butterworth, took up a new role with NAB Group in Australia.
