Confidence rising, says banking boss

YORKSHIRE Bank’s new head of business and private banking for South Yorkshire, Kevin Elliott, said market confidence is beginning to rise across the region.

Mr Elliott, a business banking specialist with more than 25 years’ experience supporting South Yorkshire companies, has been promoted from head of business and private banking for Doncaster.

Under Mr Elliott’s leadership, Yorkshire Bank said that its business and private banking teams in Sheffield and Doncaster will be joined to provide “extended services” to growing businesses, with turnovers between £500,000 and £25m, across the South Yorkshire region.

Mr Elliott began his career with Yorkshire Bank in Sheffield in 1984. Having progressed to branch manager, he moved into commercial banking in 2006 and fulfilled a number of roles before becoming head of the Doncaster team in 2012.

Mr Elliott said: “South Yorkshire is a dynamic market, with no shortage of ambitious growing businesses looking to invest, expand and create new jobs.
