A major shake-up is coming to one of Yorkshire’s most recognisable luxury retailers, and it could mean better rewards for shoppers who regularly browse its rails and beauty halls.

Upmarket department store Harvey Nichols has confirmed it is revamping its loyalty scheme as part of a wider transformation of the business, with a new-look programme set to launch in late January 2026.

The changes are designed to reflect how customers at both its Leeds store and across the country now shop and, crucially, to make rewards clearer and more generous from day one.

What’s changing?

For shoppers, the most immediate change is at entry level. Under the new structure, Tier 1 members will earn two points for every £1 spent; double the previous reward rate.

Harvey Nichols says this will allow customers to feel the benefit of joining much sooner, rather than having to spend heavily before seeing any meaningful return.

The retailer is also simplifying how its loyalty scheme works overall. Following customer feedback, Harvey Nichols is scrapping selectable rewards and replacing them with fixed benefits at each tier.

The aim is to offer a more straightforward and consistent experience, so shoppers know exactly what they are getting without having to navigate a menu of options.

While full details of the higher tiers have not yet been revealed, Harvey Nichols has confirmed they will come with clearly defined benefits, alongside a refreshed visual identity for the scheme itself. More information is expected closer to launch.

What does it mean for shoppers?

For Leeds shoppers, the changes underline Harvey Nichols’ ongoing commitment to its Yorkshire presence, with the Briggate store remaining a key destination for fashion, beauty and dining in the city centre.

Loyalty perks often extend beyond simple discounts, with events, experiences and early access frequently forming part of premium schemes, something regular customers will be watching closely.

Harvey Nichols is not alone in rethinking how it rewards shoppers, and across the department store sector, loyalty schemes are increasingly seen as essential rather than optional.

For example, last September, Fenwick launched its first-ever loyalty programme, backed by a high-profile “earn your stripes” campaign.
