Popular Sheffield United pub The Railway Hotel is to open next month under new management
The well-loved pub, popular with Sheffield United fans and located on Bramall Lane, is to remain open under new management despite reports of its closure, its owners told The Yorkshire Post.
On July 1, just days away from the greatly anticipated reopening of the hospitality industry throughout England following the Coronavirus pandemic, The Railway Hotel’s previous tenants Jack and Andrew Carter gave notice that they would be leaving the business with immediate effect, leading some to believe that Coronavirus had caused the end of this well-known Sheffield pub.

Nicholson & Co said The Railway Hotel is set to reopen, with the search currently on for a new tenant to take over the running of the establishment .
Martin Nicholson, Director of Nicholson & Co, the agent instructed search for a new tenant says; “The Railway was closed due to lockdown and the tenant chose to leave the property just before the property could have reopened. The property will open again, but to be fully successful and due to its prime location opposite SUFC, spectators will need to be allowed to home games which has a natural and hugely beneficial effect on trade in the Bramall lane and London road area. We do expect the property to open again with a new energetic tenant very soon.”
While a reopening date has not yet been set as the search of a tenant continues, the pub is expected to reopen by August 2020. More details of the opportunity and the property are due to be released within the coming weeks.
