Theakston boss reveals whether his firm would ever brew a lager

Theakston’s will always be associated with real ales like Old Peculiar and Best Bitter but would they ever consider crossing the Rubicon into lager?

“We would always look at every opportunity,” said Simon Theakston, executive director.

“If our consumers demanded a lager from us then we would have to take that demand very seriously. But if we were to produce a lager it would be the best lager.

“If it was not for that ability to adapt we would not be here.

“If I am absolutely honest, it is something we have thought about and looked into and it is something that has not been ruled out.”
