These Leeds and Yorkshire Poundland stores are getting chilled and frozen ‘shop-in-shops’
The retailer has gradually been adding chiller and freezer cabinets to its stores across the country - as part of Project Diamond Ice - after the company bought frozen food retailer Fulton Foods.
Poundland is classed as an essential retailer and work on the roll-out will continue during the latest lockdown.

Items in the new frozen and chilled ranges include everyday meals and snacks, including ready meals, pies and pizzas, as well as frozen desserts and ice-cream.
The stores in Yorkshire are:
Bradford Westfield (launching the week of November 2)
Leeds Crossgates Centre (launching the week of November 16)
Bridlington Promenade Centre (launching the week of November 16)
Scarborough Westborough (launching the week of November 30)
All the work is being carried out in line with official guidance on safe working during the coronavirus outbreak and the revamped stores will maintain the same robust standards of hygiene that apply across all stores, according to Poundland.

Managing director of Fultons, Poundland’s new chilled and frozen food arm, Karen Rees, said: “Poundland and Fultons colleagues are working closely together to bring the new ranges to more stores by December as part of the Diamond Ice rollout and we’ll continue working during the new lockdown.
“As an essential retailer we know how much customers appreciate being able to do more of their shopping under one roof. We look forward to welcoming them to our revamped stores, helping them manage challenging times.”
Project Diamond Ice is part of the biggest transformation in Poundland’s 30-year history, significantly broadening the offer to customers.
Pep&Co clothing shop-in-shops are already in more than 310 Poundland stores and the new Pep&Co Home brand launched in August across its 800-plus estate.
