Deloitte to create 100 new roles in Leeds and Manchester by 2030
Professional services firm Deloitte has announced that it will be creating up to 100 new Deal Transformation jobs by 2030 as it expands its mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and value creation capabilities outside of London.
Deloitte currently has 100 people working on M&A related services in Manchester and Leeds. The company said that the new hires will mean that, by 2030, this number will more than double.
The new roles will be within Deloitte’s newly formed Deal Transformation North team, led by Adam Batson, director at Deloitte and Deal Transformation North leader.
Speaking on the plan for new hires, Mr Batson said: “As value creation becomes harder and transactions are increasingly complex, clients want access to specialist expertise that understands their businesses and is close to where they operate.

“This expansion not only brings our specialist expertise closer to our clients but also creates an opportunity for Deal Transformation professionals to build their careers and achieve partnership outside London in a way that is, at present, unique in the market.”
The Deal Transformation team forms part of the firm’s broader M&A offering. The company said it would provide Value Creation Services and “company side support on complex M&A transactions”, including specialist support in HR, finance, and technology.
Deloitte said the move comes at a time when it is experiencing strong demand for value creation and M&A services, particularly on complex transactions such as carve-outs, demergers, IPOs and integrations.
The firm said that expanding its Deal Transformation capability in the North will “enhance its ability” to bring more specialist expertise closer to clients.
Speaking on the expansion, Dave Sharman, Deloitte’s managing partner for its Strategy, Risk and Transactions Advisory business, said the move “underlines” the firm’s commitments to operating UK-wide.
He said: “The pace of growth across the North in recent years has been phenomenal and this investment underlines our commitment to our UK-wide strategy.
“There are talented people all over the UK, and this is just the start of how we will further harness that talent to build market-leading teams across the country, creating opportunities for our people and delivering specialist expertise to clients wherever they are based.”
Deloitte said its expectation is that the roles required to build the team further will be filled by value creation and M&A professionals “based in the area”.
The announcement forms part of Deloitte’s broader UK Places strategy, which includes plans to grow the number of people in its Strategy, Risk and Transactions Advisory business outside of London.
