Investment is starting to come through and confidence is slowly growing. It’s been a long time coming but the industry is slowly starting to re-build. I think the next couple of years are critical as anything, however minor, could alter the fragile state of confidence.

What is the best project you have been involved in?

I previously worked for a large pub company with a portfolio of thousands of properties and one of the most rewarding, yet demanding, projects was the major disposal of a scheme involving approximately 2,000 properties worth hundreds of millions of pounds.

What is your favourite building in the region and why?

I should say the KC Stadium being a Hull City AFC fan, but due to the history I love our office on Shambles in York. It’s such an interesting building with stories around every corner.

If you could change one thing to improve the property industry in this region, what would it be?

Finance is key and it is important that the banks keep working on re-evaluating their lending criteria. Some banks are looking at potential deals with a more hands-on approach and this is making the wheels turn quicker.

Who has inspired you?

Richard Branson is someone I really admire and take inspiration from. It’s mainly his work ethic and his drive to make things work (and keep trying until it works properly).
