Drive Medical acquires mobilty firm

A manufacturer and distributor of medical equipment has acquired a specialist seating and mobility products manufacturer.

Drive Medical Limited, based in Elland, West Yorkshire has bought Staffordshire-based Specialised Orthotic Services (SOS) for an undisclosed sum.

Drive Medical has corporate offices and distribution facilities across the globe, marketing over 2,500 product lines. Harvey P Diamond, chairman and CEO of Drive Medical said: “This is a strategic acquisition for the Drive family of companies, and complement’s Drive’s U.S. Wenzelite line of mobility and seating products for children and adults.”

SOS specialises in the design, development, manufacture and supply of innovative, postural support systems and associated mobility equipment. The company was established in 1980 and currently employs 70 people.
