Firm pioneers greener alternative to burial and cremation
Howard Pickard, managing director of Leeds engineering firm LBBC Technologies, which is to play a key role in developing a new process set to rival cremation and burial.
Stanningley-based LBBC has been chosen by Scottish company Resomation as its technology development and manufacturing partner. Resomation has developed a water and alkali based process that accelerates natural decomposition of human corpses and offers a greener alternative to burial and cremation. The system has been approved in the USA and Canada.
LBC specialises in precision casting and other industrial processes involving high-pressure autoclave applications. It has annual sales of 7.5m and employs 65 staff, exporting around the world.
