Former Ferrybridge Power Station: Mountpark gains planning consent for major logistics development
Part of the former Ferrybridge Power Station site is set to enjoy a new lease of life as a major logistics base.
Logistics development company Mountpark has secured planning consent for its largest speculative project in the UK, Unit 3, at Mountpark Ferrybridge in West Yorkshire. A spokesman said the move marks the next step in the transformation of the former coal yard at Ferrybridge Power Station into an infrastructure and logistics hub. More than 50 per cent of Mountpark Ferrybridge has now been pre-let or pre-sold following a 65,800 sq ft pre-let to Warburtons and the disposal of a further 40 acres to a data centre developer. Unit 1, a 40,000 sq ft speculative unit, is also under offer.
Brett Huxley, Development Director for Mountpark UK & Ireland, said: “Ferrybridge benefits from a number of fundamentals occupiers are prioritising: certainty of delivery, power, connectivity to the national strategic road network and an established labour pool.”
JLL, Carter Towler and Carter Jonas are joint agents at Mountpark Ferrybridge. The wider project team at Mountpark Ferrybridge includes GMI Construction, Oxalis Planning, SMR Architects, Markides Associates, Ridge and Partners and BWB.
