Mr Boyle founded boutique firm Advent Search Partners to provide a “differentiated” talent-spotting service, he said.

Advent will conduct searches for board and head of function appointments, with a focus on industry, infrastructure, private equity and professional services sectors.

The firm will be based in offices in Leeds and London.

“Advent has been founded to be a clearly differentiated boutique executive search firm, which will utilise our experience of the market and accumulated knowledge of how and where to identify and attract good people,” Mr Boyle said.

“As my career has been based around individuals taking on fresh challenges, I became attracted by the prospect myself.

“Having spent over 18 years with the same firm, I suppose you could say that I have decided to speed up a bit,” he added.

Mr Boyle is a prominent figure in the regional business community and previously co-chaired Variety’s Yorkshire Business Awards judging panel on behalf of Howgate Sable.

His previous clients have included FTSE100 businesses, international groups and private equity-backed businesses.

Sean Lippell, formerly managing partner at Addleshaw Goddard’s corporate division, is also involved in the venture. Mr Lippell will provide executive coaching services to Advent clients.
