Jablite names new manufacturing director

Jablite, which makes a range of roof, wall and floor insulation products, has manufacturing sites in Howden, Yorkshire, and in Belvedere, Kent.

Mr Brown has 18 years’ cross-industry experience as a board director. He was formerly operations director at Countrystyle, a recycling company, operations director at Powakaddy, a specialist in powered golf caddies, and operations director and general manager at Gardner Denver, a manufacturer of equipment for the oil industry.

Elsewhere, business continuity and information security specialist Agenci Information Security has appointed Barney Battles, former non-executive chairman of Enables IT Group, as its chairman.

Mr Battles’ expertise spans more than two decades in the UK and global technology, media and telecommunications sectors. He has held board roles with organisations including Omnicom, and 1Spatial. Mr Battles joins AIS as the team expands to bigger premises in Silkwood Park, Wakefield.

Meanwhile, Sky Betting and Gaming has appointed Sam Downey as head of casino and gaming at its site in Leeds city centre.

Mr Downey has taken the role after holding the position of Sky’s head of Bingo for two years, before which he was casino manager for Boylesports, a bookmaker based in Ireland.

In his new role, he will manage the teams within the Sky casino and gaming department, including the Sky Vegas brand.

Independent insurance brokers Sydney Packett & Sons Ltd has announced that Marshall Sugden will join it as a director, subject to regulatory approval.

The company employs 35 people at its offices at Ashley Lane, Shipley.

Mr Sugden joins from Bluefin, a national broker, where he was managing director business development.
