Knights: Law firm sees revenues lift by over 25 per cent as it continues acquisitions drive

Law firm Knights has seen its revenues lift by over 25 per cent as the company continued its acquisitions drive.

The firm, which holds offices in Leeds and Sheffield, said it expects to post a 28 per cent lift in revenue to around £207m for the year ended 30 April 2026.

Knights said it also expects underlying profit before tax to land at around £33m, up from £28m a year prior.

It came in a period which saw Knights acquire a string of businesses.

Speaking on the results, David Beech, CEO of Knights, said: “Knights has delivered a strong financial performance in FY26, driven by organic growth, our successful acquisition strategy, and the sustained benefits of our differentiated business model, all underpinned by disciplined execution led by our expanded management team.’’

The period saw the firm complete the acquisition of South East-based Birkett Long LLP and Birkett Long IFA LLP in June 2025, as well as Rix & Kay LLP in August.

Having established its first presence outside England, in Cardiff, August also saw the firm add to its team via the acquisition of Le Gros Solicitors Limited.

The firm said in its latest announcement that the acquisitions had “all performed well”.

In a trading update issued to the London Stock Exchange, the company added: “The group is actively assessing acquisition opportunities, with a healthy pipeline.”

Knights said it was also continuing to progress its previously announced discussions with Moore Barlow LLP.

The law firm added in its announcement that it expects to post an increase in underlying EBITDA of 19 per cent for the full year, landing at around £51m.

Net debt is expected to be around £65.4m at year end, up from £64.8m a year prior, after around £17m of net cash paid in relation to acquisitions.

The company is set to announce its full year results on 6 July 2026.

In its previous financial year, Knights established a new Family team in Leeds and Sheffield. The period also saw the firm make 80 new hires.

In 2024, Knights announced that it had moved into a premium office at 1 St Paul’s Place in Sheffield following an extensive refurbishment of the city centre building.

The firm said at the time that the move marked a “Significant investment” in its Sheffield team.

Speaking on the move, Jessica Neyt, client services director at Knights, said at the time: “This is an exciting move for our Sheffield team and is the latest investment in our people as we grow in Yorkshire.”
