Leading tax expert joins Brown Butler

A TAX expert is joining Leeds-based chartered accountants Brown Butler to head the firm’s tax dispute resolution team, which includes tax investigations and disclosures.

Paul Clarke, a chartered accountant and chartered tax adviser, was previously a long-serving tax partner in the Leeds office of PKF and BDO, where he headed PKF’s tax dispute resolution activites in the North of England. He was a member of BDO’s national tax dispute resolution team.

Mr Clarke said: “I am excited to be joining Brown Butler as we share the same values. Tax dispute resolution is an increasingly valuable service for clients as HM Revenue and Customs is demonstrating a greater desire to resolve long-running tax disputes, rather than go through the courts.”

Brown Butler’s director of tax, Craig Hughes, added: “I am truly delighted that Paul is joining us. He is highly regarded in the Yorkshire business community.”
