Minster Law acquires Arag personal injury book

The national specialist personal injury law firm Minster Law has acquired the personal injury business of ARAG Law.

The transaction sees Minster acquire ARAG Law’s personal injury legal team and its active caseload. Financial terms of the transaction are not being disclosed.

A spokesman said: “Building on the long-standing relationship between the two organisations, the agreement ensures continuity for insurer partners and customers while enabling a seamless transition of services.

"The acquisition establishes a new Minster Law office in the centre of Bristol, continuing the firm’s planned expansion of its regional office footprint following the opening of its London office, earlier this year. Together with existing HQ operations in Wakefield, Minster continues to expand its national presence.”

The deal represents the second significant acquisition of its kind completed by Minster in recent years, following the purchase of Irwin Mitchell’s high-volume personal injury business in 2022.

Shirley Woolham, Chief Executive Officer of Minster Law, said: “This acquisition is another deliberate step in our long-term growth strategy and reflects our confidence in the future of specialist personal injury legal services.

“The personal injury market has changed fundamentally over recent years. What was once viewed as a relatively standard legal service has become an increasingly specialist discipline, requiring sustained investment in legal expertise, technology, operational capability and the ability to deliver consistently high-quality outcomes at scale.

“As organisations continue to assess where that capability is best delivered, we’re seeing specialist personal injury firms like Minster playing an increasingly important role. That’s not because personal injury has become less important, but because it has become more specialised.

“At Minster, personal injury is our core business. We have continued to invest in our people, our operating model and our technology because we believe specialist providers are best placed to deliver the outcomes that customers and insurer partners increasingly expect.

“We’re confident in the strategy we’ve chosen and we’ll continue to pursue opportunities that complement our business, extend our reach and strengthen our position as one of the UK’s leading specialist personal injury law firms.”

Commenting on the transaction, Mike Lowe, Director of Law at ARAG Law, said: “This is an excellent deal for both Minster and ARAG Law, furthering Minster Law’s strategic expansion into delivering specialist personal injury services and providing continuity for ARAG Law’s clients, colleagues and business partners.

"We’re confident that the transfer of any ongoing claims will be seamless and, in establishing a regional office very close to ARAG Law’s Bristol HQ, Minster offers the best new home for the team.”
