Morrisons' chief to take centre stage at chamber dinner

DALTON Philips, the chief executive of Bradford-based supermarket chain Morrisons, will be the keynote speaker at a major business event later this year.

Mr Philips will take centre stage at the Cedar Court Hotel, in Bradford, on Friday, November 19, when he addresses Bradford Chamber's annual dinner.

It will be one of the first major speeches made by Mr Philips since he took the helm at one of Britain's best-known supermarket brands.

Bradford Chamber's black-tie dinner is expected to attract 400 guests, including the district's key business people, plus decision-makers from around the region.

Harold Robinson, Bradford Chamber's president, said: "We're delighted that Dalton Philips will speak at this year's annual dinner of Bradford Chamber.

"The combined track record of both Mr Philips and Morrisons shows that the company is in for more interesting times in the future, and attendees at the dinner are sure to hear an interesting address."
