A spokesman for Nexus said: "As businesses up and down the country battle new and unique challenges, retailers – particularly supermarkets – are experiencing unprecedented demand for home deliveries. Morrisons needed to rapidly scale up its fleet, requiring a large volume of vehicles to be delivered to its stores nationwide within a very short space of time."

"The additional vehicles will enable Morrisons to increase deliveries to its customers each day, especially the elderly and vulnerable who are in close proximity of the retailer’s stores but unable to visit."

Lindsay Prescott, Procurement Manager at Morrisons, said: "In order to support our most vulnerable customers during this difficult time, Morrisons launched the doorstep delivery service, enabling our store community champions to deliver essential shopping to the customer's door. In order to achieve this we urgently needed vans, and Nexus provided us with first class service to help turn this around in record time."

David Brennan, CEO at Nexus Vehicle Rental, commented: “Morrisons needed a rental supplier that could source and secure a large number of vans to add to its fleet, which Nexus was able to fulfil at short notice.

"For those retailers, couriers, logistics and utilities companies needing to rapidly scale up operations whilst mitigating costs, the options available through vehicle rental provide a timely, practical, cost-effective solution, enabling businesses to keep moving in these difficult times.”
