The firm has finished construction work on 4 Wellington Place, which will house one of the world’s largest betting and gaming companies, Flutter, which is the owner of Leeds-based Sky Betting & Gaming.

The company currently occupies space in both 2 and 6 Wellington Place, but the new building provides 134,000 sq ft of office space across eight floors, as well as a south facing roof terrace overlooking Tower Square, basement parking and secure cycle space, plus shower and changing facilities.

The building, which includes 18,000 sq ft of ground floor retail and leisure space, is the ninth building to be finalised in the wider masterplan and completes the east end of the development

Paul Pavia, head of development at MEPC, said: “Wates Construction have done a fantastic job in helping us to deliver this exceptional building to their usual high standard with only a slight delay despite Covid restrictions impacting progress for nearly half of the project duration.”

Michael Afflick, from Flutter, added: “Our people are what make our business and whilst we are incredibly proud of how we have adapted during this very difficult time, we are as equally excited as the team at MEPC to provide our colleagues with a new workspace they will be proud to call home.”
