Lee Greenwood is the centre manager at Sheffield’s Crystal Peaks Shopping Mall.

What was your first job?

Sorting wastepaper by hand at a paper recycling plant.

If you weren’t in your current position, what would you be doing?

I did an English literature degree at university so it would probably something to do with books.

What was your worst mistake?

I took a job working in Sicily, living in a tiny flat with no heating during the coldest Sicilian winter for a century – not a fun time!

What’s you ideal day away from the office?

A long walk in the countryside followed by a big pub lunch and an afternoon nap to sleep it off.

Name one person you would like to have dinner with and why.

If I’m allowed to invite historic people it would be Captain Cook. Living it would probably be Stephen Fry.

What was your best subject at school?

That was definitely English.

What are your hobbies?

Walking, food, camping and scuba diving.

What would you do if you won the Lotto?

I would probably purchase a lavish property somewhere tropical near a coral reef.

What’s your favourite item of clothing?

A blue and white cheque M&S shirt I’ve had for years.

What’s your favourite time of day?

You can’t beat a summer evening in the garden when the sun is going down.

What’s the best thing about Yorkshire?

I am Yorkshire born and bred and it’s a big place with a great sense of its own identity that at the same time manages to embrace a diverse range of cultures and lifestyles.

What would you like your epitaph to be?

‘When we remember we are all mad, the mysteries disappear and life stands explained’ – Mark Twain.
