RAW Charging announces new partnership with Exclusive Collection

One of the UK’s largest providers of electric vehicle charging services has secured a deal with the company behind a portfolio of country house hotels and spas as the next stage in its expansion across the UK and Europe.

RAW Charging has signed a contract with Exclusive Collection to install and operate electric vehicle EV charging at the company’s venues around the UK. RAW has already installed chargers at five Exclusive Collection venues allowing 30 vehicles to charge across the portfolio simultaneously.

Pennyhill Park hotel and spa in Surrey is the latest site to have chargers installed with five 22kW chargers and ten charging bays. The chargers offer both cable and socketed charging, catering for all EVs. The other venues include South Lodge and its spa in West Sussex, The Manor House hotel and golf club in Wiltshire and Lainston House hotel and Season Cookery School in Hampshire.

In a statement, RAW said: “As the UK gears up for the Government ban of sales of new diesel and petrol cars by 2030, it is time for businesses to play a key role in delivering destination charging to help aid the transition to EVs.

"In 2022, the sale of EVs overtook diesel cars for the first time in the UK, with more EVs on the roads than ever before. The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders are calling for more EV chargers to be installed and RAW is driving the change, installing chargers across sites in the UK including at Exclusive Collection sites. Going into 2023, the UK will become more reliant on destination charging which is a convenient, affordable and reliable way for drivers to charge up while away from home.”

RAW has launched charging facilities at a large number of hospitality and retail sites across the UK as landlords seek to provide their customers with EV charging facilities. This roll-out of EV chargers includes the largest new EV charging hub in London at Brent Cross, the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet York, and plans for a new ChargeYard in Oxford as part of a sponsorship with Oxford City Football Club.

Bruce Galliford, the CEO of RAW Charging, which is based near Wetherby, said: “It has been brilliant to work with Exclusive Collection to deliver EV charging to five of their sites in the UK.

"EV charging is a valuable addition to their range of exclusive hotels, including Pennyhill Park hotel. There are more EVs on the road than ever before and hotels have a huge opportunity to roll-out EV chargers at their sites, giving their customers new and necessary services as the number of EV drivers increases. This partnership is the next step in RAW’s delivery of EV charging across the UK and Europe.”

Danny Pecorelli, Managing Director, Exclusive Collection, said: “With the increase in EVs on the road, the chargers offer guests the opportunity of worry-free charging of their cars to get on the go with ease when they leave.

"Giving them time to rest, recharge and take a breath from the everyday in beautiful surroundings whilst with us.”
