Rea becomes Surgical’s interim MD

The board of keyhole surgery instruments maker Surgical Innovations has announced the appointment of Chris Rea as the company’s interim managing director with immediate effect.

In a statement, the company added: “In line with an earlier board decision to reduce the number of directors given the current size of the company, Colin Glass and Ray Simkins step down as non-executive directors of Surgical Innovations with immediate effect. Doug Liversidge, the chairman, expressed on behalf of the board his sincere thanks to Colin and Ray for their dedicated support of the company over many years.

Professor Mike McMahon remains a non-executive director of Surgical Innovations and clinical adviser to the company.”
